Better Manchester, West Midlands and the Glasgow Metropolis area have been awarded an additional £20m every by the UK authorities to speed up the science and tech-focused efforts of the areas.
Science and Expertise Secretary Liz Kendall made the funding announcement forward of the Regional Funding Summit in Birmingham later this week.
The brand new funding for the three areas is the newest dedication from the federal government’s £500m Native Innovation Partnerships Fund (LIPF) and builds on the preliminary £30m earmarked for every place in June’s Spending Assessment, together with seven others throughout the UK together with Cardiff Metropolis Area, Belfast-Derry/Londonderry and West Yorkshire.
