A spokesperson for Gwent Police stated: “Officers are interesting for data following studies of dysfunction on Church Avenue this morning.
“We had been referred to as to Church Avenue, Newport, at round 1.10am on Sunday, October 26, to studies of round eight folks combating on the street.
“Officers’ enquiries led to them arresting two Newport males – aged 32 and 39 – on suspicion of affray. Each males stay in police custody right now.
