Revolut and ElevenLabs investor launches new £11m fund

Carles Reina, an angel investor who has beforehand backed the likes of Revolut and ElevenLabs, has launched a brand new solo GP fund price $15m (£11.4m).

Known as Baobab Ventures, the brand new fund will again pre-seed and seed-stage founders with AI, robotics and defence being focused sectors.

Reina stated that Baobab’s philosphy is anxious with “constructing momentum rapidly” and thru the fund he hopes to work intently with founders providing “hands-on assist”.

“Constructing startups has dramatically modified in the previous few years. Gross sales cycles are quicker, there are a whole bunch of opponents inside months, and AI has killed chilly outreach conversion charges,” stated Reina.

“Founders want to maneuver extremely rapidly while constructing a gross sales and development movement match for the AI age. To do this, they want operators on their cap desk who can draw on related frontline expertise from the AI period and who’re hands-on with their assist.

The fund has been backed by LPs together with Cendana Capital, Isomer Capital, RSJ Investments, Emergence Ventures, and Cyber Fund.

Further backing has come from companions from Idea Ventures, Credo Ventures Lucca & Stella Norton’s household workplace together with skilled footballer Mario Goetze, broadcast entrepreneur Carles Cuní, and deep tech investor Dr Fatima Godall.
