Birmingham metropolis centre to house £4.5m startup hub

Work has begun on a £4.5m plan to redevelop a 210,000 sq ft website in Birmingham’s metropolis centre right into a startup hub.

The challenge, from UK science and tech property developer Bruntwood SciTech, will set up a workspace for startups and scaleups within the Centre Metropolis tower, which was constructed throughout the Sixties in Birmingham’s theatre district.

Development has begun, with Bruntwood SciTech aiming to finish the challenge by January 2025. The 20-storey constructing will supply co-working and pay-as-you-go choices for startups.

The group’s final enterprise within the metropolis was the Birmingham Innovation Quarter, unveiled in Could 2023.
