Claire Byrne to go away RTE and take over Pat Kenny’s present on Newstalk

Broadcaster Claire Byrne will rejoin Newstalk because the morning host, as David McCullagh has been confirmed as the brand new presenter of RTE’s Immediately programme.

The transfer comes as Pat Kenny introduced on radio on Friday that he was leaving his each day morning present and can transfer to weekends.

McCullagh would be the new presenter of RTE’s flagship Immediately programme, which airs each weekday at 10am.

The journalist and broadcaster, who presently presents RTE’s SixOne Information and Behind The Story podcast, will step into the mid-morning slot on November 3.

The Dubliner joined RTE in 1993 and have become a political correspondent for 12 years earlier than becoming a member of Prime Time in 2013.

Byrne took over the Immediately programme in 2020 and in addition hosted the Claire Byrne Stay programme for quite a few years.

She is going to now current Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm on Newstalk.
