HSBC has appointed Brendan Nelson as Group Chair, following his tenure as interim Group Chair since 1 October 2023.
Brendan joined the Board in September 2023.
The appointment follows a rigorous choice course of that thought of each inner and exterior candidates.
Brendan brings intensive expertise in monetary providers.
He led KPMG’s International Monetary Providers Observe, advising and auditing worldwide banks, and has held board positions at BP, RBS, and HSBC.
Commenting on his appointment, Brendan Nelson mentioned:

Brendan will proceed as Chairman of the Group Audit Committee till the publication of HSBC’s Annual Outcomes 2025 in February, after which a successor will probably be introduced.
