Police have issued an replace on their investigation into protests in Cardiff. Some 13 individuals had been arrested on Saturday throughout a protest over allegations the protesters had been supporting a proscribed terror organisation.

The protests held outdoors of the BBC headquarters on Wooden Avenue within the metropolis centre had been amongst many comparable protests being held throughout the UK.

Through the protest it’s alleged campaigners criticised the choice to class Palestine Motion as a proscribed group underneath the Terrorism Act.

South Wales Police arrested 13 individuals on Saturday who they’ve since launched on bail.

A spokesperson for the drive stated on Sunday night: “The 13 individuals who had been arrested on Saturday, July 12, throughout a protest which happened within the neighborhood of Central Sq., Cardiff, have been launched on police bail.

“They had been arrested on suspicion of committing offences underneath Part 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000 (supporting a proscribed organisation).

“The investigation which is being led by CTP Wales with help from South Wales Police is ongoing.”

The protesters had been mendacity on the ground and bore placards which learn “I oppose genocide” and “I help Palestine Motion”.

One stated the designation of Palestine Motion as a terror group was an “infringement of our democratic proper to peaceable protest”.

South Wales Police stated it “helps the suitable for individuals to make their voices heard by protest offering it’s finished lawfully”.
