Teen woman killed in minibus crash named by police as driver arrested

Police have launched the identify of the 16-year-old woman who died in a tragic minibus crash earlier this week.

Eleanor “Ellie” Hague, from Sherburn-in-Elmet, has been formally recognized by North Yorkshire Police. Ellie was a sixth kind scholar at Tadcaster Grammar College, and her household – who’ve shared photographs of her – are being supported by specifically skilled officers.

The deadly collision occurred at round 12.28pm on Monday, December 1, when a white Mercedes Sprinter minibus was struck by a light-coloured Hyundai i10 on Toulston Lane, on the junction with Rudgate.

The minibus was travelling in direction of Sherburn and was carrying 9 college students aged 16 to 18 from Tadcaster Grammar College and Sherburn Excessive College’s shared sixth kind.
