A teenage woman has tragically died after a two-vehicle collision on a rural street close to Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, on Monday afternoon.
Emergency providers have been known as to Leeds Highway, close to Toulston, at 12.28pm on Monday (1 December 2025) after a white Mercedes Sprinter minibus collided with a light-coloured Hyundai i10.
North Yorkshire Police confirmed the sufferer was a passenger within the minibus, which was carrying 9 youngsters aged 16 to 18 and travelling in the direction of Sherburn. Regardless of efforts by paramedics, the woman died on the scene.
One other teenage woman suffered critical accidents and was taken to hospital, although her accidents usually are not believed to be life-threatening. The remaining passengers, together with the minibus driver, have been handled for minor accidents in hospital.
A 40-year-old lady driving the Hyundai has been arrested in reference to the crash.
A police spokesperson stated: “The incident occurred on Toulston Lane on the junction with Rudgate. The woman tragically died on the scene. One other teenage woman was taken to hospital with critical accidents that aren’t believed to be life-threatening.”
Toulston Lane stays closed to visitors, with collision investigators persevering with their work on the scene.
